Armstrong appointed executive director, head of legal, ACE at Gilead Sciences

James Armstrong (pictured) has been appointed Executive Director, Head of Legal, ACE at Gilead Sciences, based in Greater London. In his new role, he will lead legal and compliance activities across the ACE region, covering Australia, Canada and Europe, including the ACE Midsize Markets.

Armstrong has built a long-standing career within Gilead. Most recently, he served as Head of Legal, Global Patient Solutions. Prior to that, he was Senior Director, Head of Legal and Business Conduct for the UK and Ireland, and earlier held the position of Associate Legal Director.

Before joining Gilead in 2016, he worked as Corporate Counsel at Baxalta UK and NextPharma Technologies. Earlier in his career, he was an associate at Bristows and Olswang LLP, and completed secondments with Takeda and GSK.

With more than two decades of experience in the life sciences sector, Armstrong brings extensive expertise in legal, compliance and business conduct matters to his new leadership position.
