Andrew Bainbridge takes top legal role at Oliver Wyman

Oliver Wyman has promoted Andrew Bainbridge (pictured) to the role of General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, entrusting him with the leadership of the global legal and compliance function of the management consulting firm.

Part of the Marsh McLennan group, Oliver Wyman operates across more than 70 cities in 30 countries, advising clients on strategy, operations, risk management and organizational transformation. Bainbridge is based in London, one of the firm’s key international hubs.

The appointment marks the latest step in a legal career that has been closely tied to Oliver Wyman for more than 15 years. He joined the firm in 2010 during a secondment through Axiom before becoming Assistant General Counsel in 2011. Over the years, he has held a number of increasingly senior positions, including Senior Assistant General Counsel, Chief Counsel for EMEA and Asia Pacific, and most recently Deputy General Counsel.

Before joining Oliver Wyman, Bainbridge worked as an associate at Berwin Leighton Paisner. During his time at Axiom, he also completed secondments with Mercer and Morgan Stanley, gaining broad in-house experience across the professional services and financial sectors.

In his new role, Bainbridge will oversee legal, regulatory and compliance matters across Oliver Wyman’s global operations, supporting the firm’s continued growth in international markets.
