Lucy Slinger joins Primark as CFO as retailer prepares for independence
Primark has named Lucy Slinger (pictured) as chief financial officer, adding further strength to its leadership team as the retailer moves towards its planned spin-off from Associated British Foods.
Slinger joins from Ingka Group, the largest IKEA franchisee, where she was vice CFO. She previously spent more than 20 years at Shell in senior finance roles.
As CFO, she will lead Primark’s financial strategy and support the business through its transition to a standalone company. Her appointment comes after the recent arrivals of chief executive Eoin Tonge and chief commercial officer Filip Ekvall, completing a series of key management changes ahead of the group’s next phase of growth.
