NXP Semiconductors appoints Michael Hoffmann as executive VP and GC
NXP Semiconductors has appointed Michael Hoffmann (pictured) as Executive Vice President and General Counsel, effective July 1. Based in Hamburg, Germany, Hoffmann also joins the company’s Management Team.
Announcing the news on LinkedIn, Hoffmann said he was “excited” to take on the new role and thanked his colleagues, including outgoing General Counsel Jennifer Wuamett, for their trust and support throughout his career. Looking ahead, he said his ambition is to build a Legal organization that “moves at the pace of our business, thinks ahead and takes real accountability for the outcomes we shape together,” while ensuring strong governance and effective risk management.
Hoffmann brings nearly two decades of experience at NXP Semiconductors, having joined the company in 2007 as Senior Counsel in Hamburg. Over the years, he has held a series of senior legal leadership roles, including General Counsel APAC in Singapore, Vice President & Chief Commercial Counsel, and, most recently, Senior Vice President & Chief Commercial Counsel and Deputy General Counsel. Before joining NXP, he served as Senior Legal Counsel at T-Mobile Germany.
In his new position, Hoffmann will lead NXP’s global legal function, supporting the company’s continued growth and strategic development.
