Rheinmetall taps McKinsey veteran as Naval Systems CFO

Rheinmetall has appointed Sebastian Kempf (pictured) as Chief Financial Officer of its Naval Systems Division. He has also assumed the role of Managing Director of NVL B.V. & Co. KG, effective July 2026.

Kempf joins Rheinmetall after an almost 19-year career at McKinsey & Company, where he rose to the position of Senior Partner. During his time at the consulting firm, he advised leading industrial companies on strategy, transformation and performance improvement.

Before joining McKinsey in 2007, Kempf completed internships at The Boston Consulting Group and Freshfields, gaining early experience in both management consulting and the legal sector.
