Alice Louise Childs dos Santos: new privacy counsel role at Bending Spoons
According to what we learnt from Linkedin, Alice Louise Childs dos Santos (pictured) has joined Bending Spoons, the Italian technology company known for apps such as Remini and for owning platforms including WeTransfer and Evernote, as Privacy Counsel. She is based in London, where she took up the role this past April.
Her arrival coincides with a particularly significant moment for Bending Spoons: the company’s Nasdaq debut, which saw it raise $1.68 billion (around €1.5 billion) through the sale of 58 million shares priced at $29 each. On the first day of unrestricted trading, the stock climbed to $40.50, a gain of nearly 40% on the offer price, taking the company’s valuation from $18.4 billion (€16 billion) to around $25.7 billion (€22.6 billion). The decision to list in New York rather than Milan reflects the greater depth of the US market, home to listed companies such as Apple, Microsoft and Alphabet.
Writing on Linkedin, Childs dos Santos said she had been fortunate enough to witness the bell-ringing at Nasdaq just a few months into her time at the company, adding that she was excited about what lies ahead for the group.
Before joining Bending Spoons, Childs dos Santos spent two years as a Data Protection Advisor at IGS | Information Governance Services, also in London, working on privacy regulations and UK GDPR.
