New role for Filippo Chiesa: appointed CFO of Galileo

Galileo, the pan-European renewable energy developer and independent power producer (IPP), has appointed Filippo Chiesa (pictured) as its new Chief Financial Officer.

Chiesa has been with the company since its founding in 2020. He joined as Head of M&A and Strategic Planning and was promoted to Chief Investment Officer in 2022, taking on a key role in the company’s strategic development, capital raising activities, and investment operations.

As CFO, he will lead the group’s financial strategy during its next phase of growth. Galileo currently boasts a pipeline of approximately 17 GW across nine European countries and is steadily advancing its transition toward a fully integrated independent power producer model.

With more than 16 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, Chiesa has developed expertise in project development and investment, finance, M&A transactions, and relations with international investors.

“Taking on the role of CFO at such an important stage in Galileo’s growth journey is a privilege,” said Chiesa. “With a strong platform, an outstanding team, and a highly qualified project pipeline, we are well positioned to enter the next phase of expansion across the value chain.”

Ingmar Wilhelm, Co-founder and CEO of Galileo, also highlighted Chiesa’s contribution to the company’s development: “Filippo has played a pivotal role in Galileo’s growth since joining in 2020. His financial and industry expertise, combined with a deep understanding of investor needs and capital markets, will be instrumental in supporting the development of value-creating projects across our strategic markets.”
