Stefania Amoruso joins Italfarmaco to lead global legal affairs

According to information obtained by Inhousecommunity Europe, Stefania Amoruso (pictured) has been appointed General Counsel, Vice President Corporate Legal Affairs and Compliance at Italfarmaco. She joined the company on June 4 and will oversee global legal affairs and corporate compliance, reporting directly to senior management.

The appointment comes as Italfarmaco continues to expand its international footprint and accelerate its growth strategy, following, among other developments, the launch of Givinostat for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Amoruso will lead the group’s legal operations across all markets, with a focus on strengthening governance, supporting business growth, and building a more consistent and scalable legal framework. She will also be responsible for the corporate compliance function, including anti-corruption, healthcare compliance, ethics, and enterprise risk management.

She brings extensive international experience gained across private practice, the public sector, and multinational companies. Before joining Italfarmaco, she held senior legal and compliance roles at Alcon, having previously worked at Eni and Pirelli. Her academic background includes an LL.M. from New York Law School and a master’s degree in European law from Université Libre de Bruxelles.

Her arrival is part of a broader strengthening of Italfarmaco’s leadership team, which recently saw the appointment of Francesco Di Marco as CEO and Morena Sangiovanni to lead the company’s Italian business.

Italfarmaco operates in 90 countries worldwide and has a long-established presence across Europe, with major operations in Italy as well as Spain, France, Portugal, Switzerland, Belgium and Austria.
