Patricia Miranda Villar set to become legal director at SNCF Voyages Italy
Patricia Miranda Villar (pictured) has been appointed director of legal affairs, regulation and compliance at SNCF Voyages Italia, the Italian subsidiary of SNCF Voyageurs operating high-speed passenger rail services in the country, led by CEO Caroline Chabrol. She will take up the position in April while maintaining her responsibilities at Ouigo España, where she is head of legal and regulatory affairs, until September 2026, ensuring a gradual transition.
In her new role, Miranda Villar will oversee the legal, regulatory and compliance function for the Italian business. Since 2019, she has led the legal and regulatory department of Ouigo Spain.
In a statement, she said the Spanish experience has represented “a historic moment” for the sector, highlighting the impact of increased competition on frequencies, capacity and pricing. According to Ouigo, the operator has expanded its network to 15 destinations and transported around 22 million passengers in nearly five years of operation.
Miranda Villar will join the Italian operation gradually, “with the aim of ensuring an orderly transition across both roles”. She expressed gratitude for the trust placed in her by the SNCF Group and for the support of her teams in Spain and within the shareholder structure. “The appointment marks the beginning of a new phase focused on “challenges, learning and renewed energy”, she said.
