Rio Tinto reshuffles legal leadership with Trudi Charles
Global mining groupRio Tinto has selected Trudi Charles as its next Chief Legal Officer, with the executive set to succeed Isabelle Deschamps when she takes up the role in early August.
Charles will join Rio Tinto from BP, where she currently serves as deputy general counsel and senior vice president overseeing legal matters for the company’s supply, trading and shipping operations. Earlier in her career, she worked in private practice at Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer in both London and Hong Kong. In her new position, she will lead Rio Tinto’s legal, governance and corporate affairs functions globally.
Headquartered in London and Melbourne, Rio Tinto is among the world’s largest mining groups, with operations focused primarily on iron ore, copper, aluminium and lithium production.
