Massimiliano Turconi joins the top ranks of Global Internal Auditing
Massimiliano Turconi (pictured), Chief Audit Executive at TIM and a highly respected leader in the internal audit profession, has been appointed to the Global Board of Directors of The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
The announcement was warmly welcomed by the Italian Association of Internal Auditors (AIIA), which described the appointment as “a recognition of professional excellence that brings the voice of the Italian internal audit community to the highest international governing body of the profession.”
Turconi brings extensive leadership experience to the role. Since 2021, he has served as Chief Audit Executive at TIM, following nearly eight years as Head of Group Internal Audit at Ferrero. He has also held several prominent positions within the European Confederation of Institutes of Internal Auditing (ECIIA), serving first as Vice President and then as President from 2024 to 2026. In addition, he was a member of the AIIA Board of Directors for nine years.
As a member of the IIA Global Board of Directors, Turconi will contribute to shaping the strategic direction and global advocacy of the world’s leading professional association for internal auditors. His appointment recognizes an outstanding career while further strengthening Italy’s presence and influence in the international dialogue on governance, internal control, risk management, and the future of the internal audit profession.
